Peter Bogucki believes that archaeology, in all its forms, is an essential element of a truly liberal education.    Unfortunately, it is a neglected subject at institutions that claim to offer a liberal education.    Prehistoric archaeology taught in the anthropological tradition is sadly absent from the curricula at a surprising number of institutions.
